East Coast BBS was founded by Melissa Thorpe in 2016. What began as a one-person business has grown into a close-knit team of specialists working from our own purpose-built premises in South Nowra.

Melissa’s introduction to bookkeeping came in 2004, working in her family’s building and construction business. She went on to complete a Diploma in Accounting, an Advanced Diploma in Office Administration, and a Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Wollongong, graduating with distinction. That mix of hands-on family business experience and formal training shaped a clear philosophy: bookkeeping should empower business owners, not confuse them.

Today our team works with clients across the Shoalhaven, Illawarra, Wollongong and right around Australia, from a first BAS lodgement through to long-term business strategy.
